If you want to have a chat with our team before you get started, just book a call here!

  • We recommend starting with our intro trial - 21 days for $75!

You’ll get 3 weeks of unlimited classes, open gym, our on-demand library + all our other membership goodies

Click here or download our app ‘The Self Care Sisterhood’ to purchase.

If you’d prefer to chat with us before signing up, you can book in a call here

  • You are perfect just as you are! We provide boutique sized small group classes to ensure all bodies are loved & looked after! We also provide options for ALL movements; including straps, blocks & chairs for support.

Our members range in age from teens through to 70s, and we don't believe anyone is 'too' anything to move for their mind!

Please keep in mind that all of our classes will require you to get up off the ground unassisted. If you have a disability, you are welcome to bring along your carer to our classes, to ensure you can enjoy and participate fully!

If you are particularly nervous - book a call with us and we can chat about what support you are needing.

  • If you are recovering from an injury, we highly recommend seeking support from a physiotherapist - we recommend Female Focus Physiotherapy & Hunter Physio.

This helps us to make sure we are giving you appropriate options around your injury.

However if you are currently injured, you will need a physio or doctor’s letter of clearance to start class. We want to keep our clients moving safely, this ensures you do!

If you’re unsure or want to chat about support options, book a call with us here

    • A drink bottle (we have a filtered water cooler for you to refill)

    • A sweat towel if you’re coming to strong, step aerobics, pilates or box + balance

    • Joggers/sneakers if you’re doing box + balance or step aerobics - all other classes can be done in socks

    • Wear something comfortable and stretchy - something that will help you move without having to keep pulling it down or up mid-class

    • Boxing wraps for box + balance class (we also have some for sale in the studio)

    • A towel + toiletries if you’re showering after class (we’ve got spare toiletries if you forget!)

    • Your amazing self, ready to move!

All other equipment (incl. mats) is provided!

  • Arrive at least ten minutes before class so you can feel settled to start, have a look around & pop your belongings away.

If you’re pregnant, have an injury or condition that affects your movement or are just feeling a bit sore, let your teacher know before class starts so they can give you options to suit your body (but you can always let them know in the class, too!)

Please leave all your belongings in the white cubes. We don’t want your phone or belongings getting squashed as we use weights & barbells in class.

At the beginning of each class your teacher will often ask about all participants energy levels & we often go around the room & say our name/pronoun & energy level - don’t worry we are all super friendly & honest & it’s a great opportunity for you to make some new gym friends!

Remember to move at your own pace & know you can stop, sit, rest, go to the toilet or have a drink of water at any time!

We’re here for you to thrive!

  • Other gyms will tell you “5-6 times a week is best” - but we say it depends on YOU.

If you are just starting out, then committing to that many will just overwhelm you & your body might go into shock if its too much too soon.

We recommend starting slow and building up over time & find that for most people moving around 3 times a week is a good middle ground. We often recommend mixing up modalities to keep yourself motivated and keeping movement feeling fun & fresh - whilst also honouring your unique energy levels, goals & interests.

  • You can start with any class that tickles your fancy! All of our classes are beginner-friendly and our teachers are always available to give you an alternative option for movements in class.

If you are feeling especially nervous or want a slower class to ease you into it, we recommend starting with yin yoga or self care stretch.

  • Our studio has a bathroom with a shower + 2 toilets, plus plenty of toiletries!

About us

  • We are located at Level 1, 2 Cromwell Street, New Lambton.

There is plenty of one-hour street parking on Cromwell St right outside the studio, as well as a two-hour free public car park a one-minute walk away (just past Alma Lane).

You’ll see our sign out the front + on the door. Just pop up the stairs and we’re on the right!

There are lots of coffee shops + food places nearby to grab a post-class snack or coffee

There are also a number of bus stops within walking distance of the studio (routes 13, 23 + 25)

  • The Self Care Sisterhood was started as a female-only fitness studio as an alternative to intimidating, male-dominated gyms. Although we are still the 'Sisterhood', we want to emphasise that we are for anyone who identifies as she/her or they/them. A bunch of our members are part of the LGBTQIA+ community (including our founder and head PT, Chloe!) and we are a safe space for transgender and non-binary people.

We're registered with ACON's ' Welcome Here Project' as well as TransFriendly

We are for anyone who identifies as she/her or they/them

  • We get it - gyms can be super intimidating places. But they shouldn’t be!

Chloe (our founder + head PT) created the SCS specifically because she didn’t feel at home in the ‘typical’ gyms.

We believe that ALL bodies should be welcome in the gym + able to access movement that works for them, and there’s no such thing as being ‘too’ anything to move for your mind!

Here are some things we do to keep our members safe:

→ We don’t ever discuss diets or weight loss in class

→ You are always allowed to ask for an option, take a break, or ask for help when you need it

→ We don’t try to sell you protein powders or cleanses (ew!)

→ We have small classes (5-14 people) so reduce overwhelm and make sure you can always access support when you need it

  • We have a really friendly community, with members from a wide range of ages, backgrounds + abilities. We believe fitness should be fun + accessible to all bodies!

We love supporting people who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and living with chronic conditions/disability/mental illness. Our team have lived experience with disability, chronic pain, mental illness + neurodivergence

We love a chat + a giggle, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously (no matching sets or Lorna Jane required!)

We correct quietly and praise loudly so you’ll always leave class feeling encouraged

We encourage you to take class at your own pace, and will always celebrate you for turning up for yourself

We know all our members by name and will often check in on you if we haven’t seen you in a while or know you’re going through a tough time

Class + bookings

  • Please ensure you book your place ahead of time so that you reserve a spot & we know you’re coming!

You can book in via our app ‘The Self Care Sisterhood’, through the momence app, or through our web portal.

Make sure you’re logged into your account (you can reset your password here if you forget)

Head to the ‘Classes’ section and navigate to the class you’d like to book and click ‘book now’. You’ll then be asked to add payment details or select a membership to use to book the class. Once you’ve done this, tap ‘book now’ again and you’re all set!

You can book in for classes up to 4 weeks in advance, and bookings close 10 minutes before the class starts.

  • If you need to cancel a booked class, please do so via the app or our online booking portal. Follow the steps for booking in a class and tap the ‘Cancel’ button and then ‘confirm cancellation’. We are unable to accept class cancellations in person or via text, email or social media.

Our SCS studio is intimate and we keep our classes small (maximum 14 ppl) so we get a chance to focus on you individually in a fun social environment. Booking are essential and classes do book out, so we require you to cancel your booking at a minimum of 3 hours before your class. Cancelling under 3 hours before class starts may incur a late cancel/no show fee. Please be aware that by not cancelling out of your class session this may stop another member from getting to class!

If you are on a class pass or limited membership (1 or 2 classes per week) & fail to cancel before your class this will be deducted from your total as if you had attended.

For those on an unlimited membership, cancellation under 3 hours notice or no-showing to a class will incur a $15 fee - this is to ensure fairness & access to classes for all clients.

You can find our full T&Cs here

  • We have smaller classes than the average studio on purpose to ensure “overwhelm” is lower & you can get the personal support you need.

Our mat classes (pilates, yoga + self care stretch) are capped at 14 people, and our strength training classes are capped at 12.

  • You’re welcome to pair a higher intensity class (eg. Pilates or strong) with a lower intensity class (eg. self care stretch or yin yoga). If you’d like to do two higher intensity classes back-to-back, we recommend letting your trainer know so they can help support you to pace yourself during class.

  • We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before the class start time to ensure you can settle in and get comfy before we start.

We lock the door just after class starts to minimise disruption and keep our clients safe.

Please ensure you turn up on time to avoid disappointment!

  • If a class is fully booked, you will have the option to join the waitlist- just tap the ‘join waitlist’ button. Spots open up on a first-come first-serve basis, so if you're #1 on the waitlist, you'll get the first spot that opens up!

Please only jump on the waitlist if you can make it to the class! Because you'll automatically be added when a spot opens up, we want to make sure that spots go to people who can come along. If you can no longer attend or are not sure if you’ll make it, please cancel your booking/spot on the waitlist at least 3 hours before class starts, to avoid late cancel charge/credit forfeiture.

If you’re on the waitlist and a spot opens up, you’ll be automatically added to the class and notified via text and email
